Thunder on the Left? “Socialist” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Defeats New York Democratic Machine.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28 year old socialist, has defeated Joe Crowley, in the New York Primary. Crowley, is a 10-term democrat rumored to be his party’s replacement for Nancy we’re capitalists get used to it Pelosi. Crowley is the head of the democratic party machine in Queens and the fourth ranking member in the House.

The race was not close – via the AP: With 88% reporting, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had 57.6% and Crowley had 42.4%.

Ocasio-cortez, who is Puerto Rican, a woman, and young, may just be the tip of the spear as Trump continues to lay siege to the system, inflame the Left, and the democratic party continues to dither and offer bland hymns on how they plan to offer capitalism with a smile as an alternative to the republicans who plan to offer capitalism with a steel boot.

The democratic machine is facing two threats – one from Trump, his fascist base, and the Vichy republicans who support him, and from the no longer dormant Left, which is making it clear that being the liberal wing of the Wall Street Party is not acceptable.

Fascist Steve Bannon will undoubtedly ghostwrite Trump’s inevitable barrage of Ministry of Doublespeak Tweets, blasting the “communists” “taking over from poor Nancy” or words to that effect.

The irony being, that while not a communist, Ocasio-Cortez, is on the Left, she defeated a democratic party apparatchik, and while it’s easy to say, what do you expect, it’s New York, the fact is, the democratic machine is being pulled to its Left.

And we say, it’s about damn time.

Sorry Nancy, looks like some people don’t want to get used to it.
